Why Choose This Comprehensive Health Scan?: The Women’s Health Profile Scan at UKSONO Healthcare is a comprehensive screening designed to assess key areas of your health. If you’re looking for a thorough health check-up or are concerned about potential signs of abnormalities or serious health conditions, this scan provides an in-depth look at your abdomen, pelvis, thyroid, neck, and breast tissues. Early detection is vital, and this scan covers the most important areas to give you peace of mind.
What Does This Scan Cover?:
- Abdomen: We will examine the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys for any signs of abnormalities such as cysts, tumors, or fatty liver. This scan is helpful in detecting a wide range of potential abdominal conditions.
- Pelvis: The scan will check your uterus, ovaries, and bladder for any abnormalities like fibroids, cysts, polycystic ovaries, or any other reproductive health issues.
- Thyroid: We assess your thyroid gland for any structural changes that could indicate hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, or the presence of nodules or goiters that could affect hormone balance.
- Neck: The neck area will be examined for any unusual lumps or enlargement of the thyroid or lymph nodes.
- Breast: The breast tissue will be thoroughly scanned for signs of lumps, cysts, or any abnormal growths that could indicate conditions such as gynecomastia, or early signs of breast cancer.
What to Expect During Your Scan: The Women’s Health Profile Scan is a thorough and non-invasive procedure that takes 30-40 minutes. Here’s what you can expect:
- Abdominal Scan: We will begin with a transabdominal ultrasound where gel will be applied to your abdomen, and the ultrasound probe will be gently moved over your skin to capture images of your abdominal organs.
- Pelvic Scan: A transabdominal scan will also be performed to assess the uterus, ovaries, and bladder. If needed, a transvaginal scan may be used for a more detailed look at the pelvic organs (written consent will be obtained).
- Thyroid and Neck Scan: Using a transcervical scan, we will assess your thyroid and neck area for any abnormalities.
- Breast Tissue Scan: A gentle scan of your breast tissue will be done to check for lumps, cysts, or other abnormal growths.
Preparation for the Scan: To ensure the most accurate results, here’s how you can prepare:
- Fasting: You may need to fast for 6-8 hours before the scan, especially for the abdominal portion, to enhance the visibility of your organs.
- Full Bladder: For the pelvic scan, a full bladder is required to provide a clearer view of your pelvic organs. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids before the appointment.
