What to Expect

During the scan:

  • Gel will be applied to the hand and wrist to aid imaging.
  • A sonographer will use a handheld probe to produce real-time images of the affected area.
  • The procedure is painless and typically takes 20–40 minutes, depending on whether one or both sides are scanned.
