What is assessed
- Plantar fasciitis / thickening: measure fascial thickness, detect inflammation.
- Tears / structural defects: identify micro-tears, focal disruptions.
- Nearby soft tissues: examine adjacent tendons, fat pad, subcutaneous tissues.
What to expect
Gel is applied to the sole, and the scan probe is passed over the plantar fascia to assess structure.
Dynamic assessment: subtle movement or stretch may be used to evaluate fascial integrity.
Exam takes ~15–20 minutes. You receive a verbal summary and a written report the same day.
Preparation
- No fasting or special prep is needed.
- Wear clothing allowing access to foot/ankle.
- Bring any prior imaging or reports if available.
