How to prepare
- No fasting or special preparation required
- Wear clothing that allows access to the area of concern
- Bring previous imaging or clinic letters if available
- Tell the sonographer how long the lump has been present
- Mention any pain, growth, redness or recent infection

You will receive a clear report and advice on whether any further action may be appropriate.
Immediate explanation
The sonographer will explain the main ultrasound findings during your appointment where appropriate.
Written report
You will receive a same-day written report that can be shared with your GP, specialist or referring clinician.
Next-step guidance
If needed, your report may recommend GP review, specialist referral, further imaging or biopsy depending on the finding.
