What is included in a full body ultrasound health check?
These are multi-region ultrasound assessments rather than a single “whole body” image. Each area is examined systematically using diagnostic ultrasound.
Female Full Body Ultrasound
Designed around key areas of women’s health, combining vascular, neck, abdominal, urinary and pelvic assessment.
Male Full Body Ultrasound
Designed around key areas of men’s health, including dedicated prostate and testicular ultrasound within the wider assessment.
Liver and thyroid health checks
For patients who want deeper assessment of one organ system rather than a broad full body pathway.
Liver Health Checks
Structural ultrasound plus non-invasive fibrosis assessment and UGAP quantitative fatty-liver assessment, with blood-test and GP-review upgrades.
Thyroid Health Checks
High-resolution neck and thyroid ultrasound combined with thyroid function, antibody and micronutrient testing depending on tier.
Blood tests included in selected liver and thyroid packages are handled through UKSONO Healthcare Partners / approved partner locations. Ultrasound findings are reported by UKSONO; blood-test turnaround depends on the selected panel.

How to prepare for your health check
Preparation depends on the package. Your booking confirmation should always take priority over general guidance below.
Usually fast for 6–8 hours for the abdominal component. Water is allowed. Attend with a comfortably full bladder for urinary/pelvic assessment.
Fast for 6–8 hours before liver ultrasound / fibrosis assessment. Plain water is generally allowed. Wear loose clothing.
No fasting is normally required for the scan. Keep the neck accessible. For blood testing, follow package-specific instructions, including biotin guidance where advised.
What a private health check can—and cannot—tell you
Useful for structural and biochemical assessment
Ultrasound can assess many organs and soft tissues, while blood tests add information about metabolism, hormones, organ function and other physiological markers. Together they can provide a broader health overview.
Not a replacement for every screening programme
A private health check does not replace NHS breast screening mammography, cervical screening, bowel screening or emergency medical assessment. Some findings require CT, MRI, mammography, endoscopy, specialist referral or other tests.
