What Our Patients Say
Questions before you book.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can self-refer for most UKSONO men’s ultrasound scans and health checks.
Will I receive my ultrasound report the same day?
Yes. Ultrasound findings are normally explained during the appointment and the formal written report is issued on the same day.
What is included in the Men’s Full Body Ultrasound?
The Men’s Full Body Ultrasound assesses carotid arteries, neck and thyroid, abdominal organs, kidneys and urinary tract, bladder, prostate and testes in one organised appointment.
What is the difference between Full Body Ultrasound and Men’s Wellbeing Check?
The Full Body Ultrasound is imaging-focused. The Men’s Wellbeing Check combines comprehensive ultrasound with a broad 57-biomarker blood panel and a 15-minute online GP consultation.
What can a prostate ultrasound assess?
It can assess prostate size and volume, bladder-related features and post-void residual where indicated. Ultrasound does not diagnose or exclude prostate cancer by itself.
Is PSA testing available?
Yes. UKSONO offers prostate-health pathways combining prostate ultrasound with PSA-based blood testing, including more comprehensive packages.
What can a testes ultrasound assess?
Testicular ultrasound can assess the testes, epididymides and scrotal contents for cysts, focal masses, varicocele, hydrocele and inflammatory changes.
Should a new testicular lump be scanned promptly?
Yes. A new testicular lump or persistent focal change should be medically assessed promptly. Ultrasound is commonly used as first-line imaging for a palpable testicular abnormality.
What is included in the Male Fertility Health Check?
The baseline pathway combines scrotal ultrasound with fertility-related hormones including FSH, LH, prolactin and testosterone. Broader premium packages add wider biomarker testing and GP review.
Does male fertility testing include semen analysis?
The UKSONO fertility health-check page focuses on scrotal ultrasound and blood markers. Semen analysis is a separate laboratory fertility investigation and is not implied by the ultrasound itself.
Can ultrasound investigate urinary symptoms?
Yes. Depending on symptoms, prostate, KUB, Abdomen & Urinary Tract or broader Full Body Ultrasound pathways may be appropriate.
Can men have breast ultrasound?
Yes. UKSONO offers male breast ultrasound for breast lumps, tenderness, swelling, nipple changes and typical gynaecomastia patterns.
Can I book abdominal and urinary ultrasound together?
Yes. UKSONO offers an Abdomen & Urinary Tract ultrasound assessing abdominal organs, kidneys, bladder and urinary tract in one appointment.
Can men book thyroid, lymph node or lump scans?
Yes. Neck & Thyroid, Lymph Node, Soft Tissue Lump, Groin and Hernia ultrasound services are available as separate diagnostic pathways.
Are vascular scans available for men?
Yes. UKSONO provides carotid duplex, DVT ultrasound, venous insufficiency/varicose-vein assessment and abdominal aortic ultrasound.
Can men book sports injury or joint ultrasound?
Yes. UKSONO offers MSK ultrasound for shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, thigh, knee, calf, ankle, foot, Achilles and plantar fascia regions.
Can my report be sent to my GP?
Yes. With your consent and the correct clinician details, UKSONO can share your ultrasound report with your GP or specialist.
